Flow Photographic presents a selection of prints by Jem Southam and Barbara Bosworth. The exhibition is inspired by the Dust Collective book, Duet on the Apple Blossom, in which some of these photographs originally appeared.
Long-time friends Jem, who lives in Exeter, UK, and Barbara, residing in New England, USA, share a fascination with landscape and nature. Beginning on the Winter Solstice of 2022, they each documented an apple tree in their backyards for a year.
This work is guided by the cyclical changes of the seasons and their own evolving interests. As winter changes into spring, trees grow leaves, flowers bloom, and fruit appears. Autumn comes and leaves turn brown and fall. Eventually, winter returns, beginning the cycle anew.
This exhibition includes images from the original book, alongside a broader collection from their project, curated by Alex Schneideman.
